Come observe the future of vocal jazz as students from elementary to high school, college to community choirs work with world-class professionals during the two days of clinics, workshops and master classes. These daytime events are free to the public, and are being held at the Edmonds Center for the Arts and the North Sound Community Church. After dinner, join us for fabulous evening concerts, starting at 7 pm both nights at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Tickets are $25 for students and $35 for adults, and are available here. (VIP Preferred tickets are $70 and include 1 evening concert, preferential seating and entry to the VIP Reception after the show.)
Our world-class professional guest artists include renowned song stylist Dee Daniels, vocalist, pianist and composer John Proulx, and the True North jazz quartet, backed up by the All Star Jazz Festival Band of Bruce Forman, Dwayne Broadnax, Josh Nelson, and Paul Beaudry. Local favorite jazz choirs Soundsation and the Seattle Jazz Singers will also perform during the evening concerts as well as this year’s Dee Daniels Scholarship winner Josh Tazman.
Our world-class professional clinicians include one of the most talented singers working in jazz today, Greta Matassa, Dave Barduhn an exceptional teacher at Portland University and joining us for the first time, Michele Weir whose reputation precedes her as an “amazing mentor”. Volunteers and Donations Needed!
It’s not just a coincidence that the DeMiero Jazz Fest returns year after year to inspire student musicians to bring their best while working with the top performers in the field. You can be one of more than 100 volunteers who help create this amazing experience. For more information about volunteering, see our Volunteer page.
As a nonprofit, the Jazz Fest relies on donations to make everything possible. We keep registration fees low, so many schools can participate, so we must raise approximately half of the money we need to operate from donations and sponsorships. Please consider a generous, tax-deductible* donation or sponsorship! You may click here to donate online, or send a check to:

Announcing this year’s Scholarship Winners!
Dee Daniels, the Festival’s Artistic Director, is excited to announce the first Dee Daniels Scholarship winner, 18-year-old jazz singer Josh Tazman. Guest artists will mentor Josh during the Festival, and he will be featured during the evening concerts. Already an accomplished pianist, vocalist and composer, Josh can scat bebop and deliver mature and subtle versions of classics. He has recently won the 2016 Downbeat Student Award for a vocal jazz solo, and has appeared with numerous artists and groups.
The Tim Hauser Scholarship, established in the memory of the founder of the Manhattan Transfer, offers a special choir free registration for the Festival. This year’s winner is a delightfully serious and committed group – Sonia Sarr’s 5th and 6th grade jazz choir from Evangel Classical School in Marysville, Washington.
We would like to congratulate both our scholarship winners. If you get the opportunity to hear them during this year’s festival, you’re in for a real treat!
Be sure to join us for, and be part of, our next Jazz Fest on March 3-4, 2017!
